Dan Psomas

My clients typically hire me for a specific project (usually creating or re-creating their web site), and I frequently go on to help them develop more complex web-based applications that fit their business processes. Examples of this include real estate broker, an advertising company, and a restaurant.

I enjoy the diversity of tasks associated with web design and development: I like to work with shapes and colors during the design phase, and once that is complete, I like writing markup that is tightly controlled and code that is easily modified.

I think the best part of my job is when my clients start using the applications I have built for them, and they call me on the phone to tell me they love how easy it is to use.

My formal education is in studio arts -- sculpture; but most of my professional life has been more or less technical in nature. From building geometrically accurate prototypes for the consumer and aerospace markets to working at a high-tech think tank in Palo Alto, my work has become increasingly abstract. I would say I am still a sculptor, but now I work mostly with electrons.
